COVID-19 VACCINATION UPDATE
Wigmore Medical Centre are continuing to vaccinate our patients from the Parkwood Health Centre site along with some of our fellow PCN Practices.
The majority of our 70 year old+ groups have now been vaccinated with the exception of a small number who either weren't suitable at the time or were uncontactable. If you believe this may be you please rest assured that you remain on our call list and we will continue to try and contact you to book an appointment. If you are over 70 and have not heard from us please email or call the surgery as we may not have the correct contact details for you.
The guidance from NHSE/I is that General Practice sites now have to move on to our 60-64 year olds and 16-64 year old with underlying health conditions. We are well aware that this is skipping the 65-69 year old group who NHSE have decided should be vaccinated at the mass vaccination sites as preference. All patients aged 65-69 should have received a letter with instructions on how to book at these sites.
We know that there is a number of you in this cohort who would prefer to have your vaccination locally. Due to the instructions we have been given we have to vaccinate the cohorts we are instructed to however we will be continuing to run "mop-up" sessions and any patients who have not taken up the mass vaccination site option will be called into these sessions. Please be aware that you could be waiting around 4-6 weeks for the mop us sessions to take place with us so we are advocating the use of the mass vaccination site appointments where possible.
If you are a Carer
you will be contacted via the national booking system to make an appointment in one of the vaccination sites. A Carer
is defined as someone who is in receipt of carer's allowance or who is the sole or primary Carer
of an elderly or disabled person who is at increased risk of COVID-19. You are encouraged to register with carer's first by visiting https://www.carersfirst.org.uk/medway
Once again we would like to thank you for your support and patience during this very complicated vaccination roll out
