COVID-19 VACCINATION UPDATE
We are continuing to roll out our covid vaccination programme with our next round of vaccinations being carried out this weekend for the rest of our 80+ population. We can then start to move along to the next cohort which is the 75-79 year old patients.
Again we ask you not to call us as we will contact you. We use various methods of contacts including text message for those we hold mobile numbers for. Please make sure your details are up to date with so can contact you when your turn comes. You can email us at Wigmore.firstname.lastname@example.org with your details or pop a note in our letter box.
We are generally only getting 7-10 days notice of vaccine delivery into our designated site at Parkwood health Centre and the day of the week we receive the delivery can vary. This causes the PCN logistical issues as we then need to make sure we have enough staff available for each of the sessions.
Our PCN is a 9 practice network and we have to number crunch the fair allocation between all of us compared to the amount of vaccine being sent into us by NHS England. We have no control over the amount, brand or timing of the vaccine we receive.
Once all this has been arranged we then have around 3-4 days to contact, consent and book patients each call can take up to 5 minutes. Please be patient with our staff when they make these calls as they have a strict script to work to.
We are still continuing the day job and are here for your health needs but please be aware that our teams may have to be redeployed at short notice to assist with the vaccination and this may mean some appointments need to be moved at short notice. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Thank you all for your patience and support over this time.
